Since our beginnings, more than 26 years ago, every technological advance in the geospatial industry has been brought into our operation: classic surveying first, artificial intelligence today. This is the timeline of that evolution.

From the total station to artificial intelligence
Each stage added a technology without retiring the previous one: today they operate together in a single geospatial workflow, from the field to the engineering deliverable.

Digital photogrammetry from analogue cameras
Conventional topographic surveys and orthophotos. Photogrammetry was already digital, working from colour scans of the metric photographs.

Survey supervision on mining megaprojects
Permanent survey crews assigned on site: the beginning of the supervision and quality-assurance line that accompanies the works from end to end today.

2009
Surveys with GNSS-RTK
Real-time differential satellite positioning changed the scale of what a single shift could survey, starting with operating mine units.

2010
First digital aerial camera
The first digital aerial camera closed the loop: fully digital photogrammetry, with no film and no intermediate scanning.

2011
Digital photogrammetric restitution
The analogue restitution systems moved to digital, with collaborative digitising and LCD stereo monitors.

ISO 9001:2008 certification
On 23 April 2012 we obtained ISO 9001:2008 certification: technical growth came under an audited quality management system.

Marca País Perú licensees
Through PROMPERÚ we received the institutional licence to use the Marca País Perú, nationally and internationally.

Commercial aviation operator: aerial work
On 26 July 2013 the Peruvian civil aviation authority granted Global Mapping its Air Operator Certificate under RAP 91: since then we fly our own campaigns.

First airborne LiDAR sensor
The first airborne LiDAR sensor, with an infrared channel, colour and a Phase One camera. The investment that defines the company.

2015
Terrestrial LiDAR scanning on site
Terrestrial LiDAR scanning entered project delivery: engineering-grade detail on structures, slopes and working faces, on the same geodetic reference as the flight.

Second aerial camera, with infrared
RGB and infrared sensors of 100 megapixels (11,608 × 8,708), 4.6-micron pixel, 1/2500 s shutter and forward motion compensation (FMC).

ISO 9001:2015 renewal
On 28 February 2018 we renewed the certification in its 2015 version, covering the geomatics services.

Second TerrainMapper LiDAR system
A second TerrainMapper airborne LiDAR system, with latest-generation RGB and infrared sensors: two systems in operation, and campaigns that no longer stop for a maintenance window.

A sustaining member of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, which brings together the world community of the discipline.

Artificial intelligence in cartography and LiDAR
AI came into cartographic editing and into LiDAR: better point-cloud classification and object recognition on imagery.

TerrainMapper II, drones and bathymetry
The airborne LiDAR was upgraded to TerrainMapper II, and drones and a survey boat joined for bathymetry: the same precision, on the water.

High-end drones and 360° scanning
A scanner for 360-degree 3D modelling and a full renewal of the field equipment: GPS, total stations and accessories.

Digital lab and quality assurance
GeoLabs: digital twins, BIM + GIS integration, geospatial dashboards and predictive analysis, over the very information the flight and the field produce.
